When I started out on the warehouse floor, I thought there were only two options.

You were either a grunt in safety shoes...

...or a manager in a safety vest with a clipboard watching us sweat and ache, while making twice out salary.

I honestly thought the gap between me and the office was a college degree, years of experience, and maybe a fancy letter of recommendation for a little extra razzle-dazzle.

I was wrong.

The gap wasn't nearly as big as I thought it was.

It didn't require a degree.

It didn't require decades of experience.

What it really required was exposure, a better understanding of how the warehouse operates, learning the language, AND HAVING A PLAN!

The part that took me the longest to realize was that those were things I could control.

I didn't have to wait for someone to hand me an opportunity.

I could start learning while I was still on the warehouse floor.

Every new term I learned.

Every question I asked.

Every office process I took the time to understand.

It all made the gap smaller and smaller.

That's what Logistics Ladder is all about.

Not pretending the gap doesn't exist.

But showing you that it's a lot closer than you think.

Keep climbing.
